Adowrds campaign

Just started my new adwords campaign using methods learnt from various sources.

We'll see what happens with them. I've got say the ads and keywords are more focused than my first sorry attempt.

The website is still waiting to be turned into a money tree! I have recently added some ebay links on a couple of the pages to see how they do.

I've added them to my Concert tickets page, and Ticket Brokers page ( Home page ).

Still struggling to get good incoming links from other sites, they just don't seem interested.

PRE selling your site

A very article about PREselling your site content is available here. The idea is to get your site visitors or "customers" to get all excited about buying what your selling that they franticly click their mouse button on your merchant link!

It's something I have tried to do with my ticket broker site, but I'm not sure whether I have acheived it yet. I need to see what happens.

On the plus side I will be doing more research into my site and my impending google adwords campaign using the methods from my recently purchased ebook, due to the fact that I am sat at home and not at work today as we are currently in the middle of a blizzard.

Roll on March, I'm off to Portugal for a week golfing!!!

Google Cash update

I've just finished reading through google cash ebook for the first time. It sounds good. Alot of it is info that is readily available on the various forums and through search engines, but what you are paying for is for the infomation to be set out in front of you in a logical order to follow.

I am going to be using my keyword list that I used to build my website with, so I have already done 1 part of the program.

I'll see how it goes, meanwhile I am still continually adding content to my site, and am working on other topics for a new site.

Just added another article page to my site about New York Yankees, again the page has been built using my original keyword list.

Also purchased Google Cash ebook over the weekend. This book relates to the google adwords program. I know I tried it as my first venture and failed embarresingly, but, never say never. I've not had a chance to read through it fully yet, but when I do I'll be letting you know what I think.

Chapter 10 : Still using wordtracker...

In the last chapter I mentioned that I paid for my wordtracker subscription, and got my keywords based on the industry I wanted to market. Well.....I had my list of keywords, and it turns out that I didn't uncover nearly as many words as you'd think.

The mistake I made was not being specific enough with my keywords and phrases. Where I searched for basketball tickets keywords that was too general a search, what I had to do was go back and really concentrate on every possible word or phrase that could be related to that area, and that might be typed into a search engine.

Being the procrastinater that I am, this took me a good few weeks to get my head around and actually do it. Like most people I have goals and ambitions that I want to reach, but I have one major distraction, a sort of achillies heel if you will. T.V! It's my kryptonite. Whether it's Stargate or 24, I have the concentration of a dead fish so it was really hard to stare at a computer screen and type in all those keywords.

But it paid off. Once I had my final list of at least 500 keywords, it made the building of the site far easier. Your keywords list if key, pardon the pun! you need it to build every page on your site from product to article. Take a look at the latest article page I just built. Usher - Topping the charts

So get a keyword list. That's an order!

The next chapter is going to involve picking my web template, and choosing a web host. What a barrel of fun that was.

Quick update

Just a quick update. I know I haven't written anything for a few days. I've been busy trying to fit in a full time job and still develop my site.

I have been hard at work developing my article pages based on the James Martell method I am using for this site.

I have just uploaded a little information article about a music mogul called P. Diddy. Maybe you've heard of him. You can read the article at the link above.

This is probably the most time consuming stage that I am at with my site at the moment. Along with gathering links to other sports and entertainment sites, I am continuing to build it up. Also I still haven't been indexed yet by the search engines so I'm still not seeing any financial reward as of yet.

I will try to bring my little journey diary a bit more up to date over the weekend.

Chapter 9 : Wordtracker

OK so I've got the ebook, which I've read at least once all through, and I've narrowed my site theme down to one I like the look of. Now for chosing keywords.

Oh my god, what do I do now, this was my first serious hurdle on my "new found path to riches". I signed up to a company called wordtracker, it is basically a keyword generator. You type in any word or phrase and it comes up with a list showing all the different variations on those words or phrases you typed in. Now here is the good part for anyone building a website, and wanting to get good search engine rankings, which lets face it is all of us! Wordtracker actually ranks your search results with the amount of times in the past month that they have been typed into the search engines.

Ta-daa, as if by magic we've got our keyowrd list, excellent, I can chose the most popular words and use them, I'll get to the top in no time. WRONG. It is far more complicated than that, and I'm not even going to try and blag you by saying I know how to do it, because I'm just like you, sort of throwing darts in the dark really, but I am learning more as I go along.

At the risk of sounding like a sales man, the ebook I bought, from this point on reffered to as "the bible", gently guides you through the process of chosing the best words for your site. In my case I then gently slide off the end of my chair, and crawl over to the light switch, flick it off, and proceed to nurse the migraine that has grown to the size of a small car!

Once over that initial side effect I was good to go.

As you can probably tell my concentration has started to crumble towards the end of this update, that's because I've been out fitting kitchens all day! I have to pay the bills untill I become a millionaire some how don't I.
